Qcart for mac9/12/2023 ![]() Again, for me, it would be just more stuff to find room for at FOH. I tend to use the built in editor for "quick and dirty" type stuff and simply move into a full featured editor if I need to do more precise cuts/fades etcĪs for the hardware options, I dunno. Moving between them and Qcart is as simple as a four finger swipe one my trackpad, it's no big deal. I run QCart on my Macbook Air, which is entirely solid state and has 8Gb of RAM, so I've never once had any issues with speed/buffering/RAM usage etcĮditing - I already have a bunch of recording/editing apps for getting clips onto my machine. The rest, for me, has never been an issue. It's now an essential part of my audio toolbox)Īs for the rest of your list - the multiple outputs thing might be useful. (fwiw, my iPad is anything but a big phone. Harry, my google skills must be failing me then coz I can't find it, any more clues? There's a Figure53 iPad app for QLab though. What about having a slot or two for a 2.5" SATA III drive? If the media files were in a folder like iTunes and you could simply open the software and choose the file, then if you had a back up drive with the same files loaded, you could move to that easily in the event of a drive failure. What about having a built in plug and play sound card, or two with XLRs? What about having a built in USB 3.0 hub? Is there any interest in a hardware device complete with LCD backed real buttons about the size of a 13" MBP? While we are on that waveform editor, how about a sample by sample movement of the vertical edit line using a hot key and the left and right arrows? Not a jog wheel, but not bad. I have SSP working in WINE, but that doesn't allow for some of the nicer features like drag and drop. I talked to the guy that wrote SSP and he has no interest in MAC or adding the waveform editor and I have no interest in continuing to run my audio through windows OS. Sports sounds plays the file, rather than making the file part of the software. I can't load that into RAM or it will get flaky like iPhoto does. About 50GB of that is just what Sports Sounds currently plays (iTUnes plays the rest). What about keeping the media files sep from the playback software to keep RAM usage low? I have nearly 500GB of files. What about built in recording software for recording and editing your VOs? What about full screen waveform editor with vertical and horizontal expansion? Non-volotile edits on the original file or create a new file? What is your preference? I'd like to be able to assign the system to 1/2 (iTunes), and individual buttons to 3/4, 5/6, 7/8. What about choosing the soundcard output per button? I have an octa-capture. In addition to what you like about current offerings. If you could do it any way you want, how would you do it? There will be much disagreement and that's OK. ![]() People are so entrenched in how they work their minds are closed to new and better ways to work. One thing you run into when developing software is dogma. I appreciate the replies but you guys really aren't very demanding. I would personally prefer hardware buttons like the X Keys. I have a touch screen so I don't really care about the ipad thing.in fact I hate ipads. It's pretty easy to find with a google search. Richard, there is an iPad remote, it's just not made by Figure 53. It was very responsive when I played around with it at a product demo. Marantz has the DN-F400 with a controller that could work standalone. I also use Playback Pro+ a bunch and toyed around with InstaCue (both from DTVideo Labs) - they work well, too. iOS/Android integration/remote control? (sure, why not)įor computer-based stuff, I've been fairly happy with Figure53's QCart because it is straight-forward, and let's me trim clips more quickly because I can see the waveform. Rentable licensing options (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) - Figure53 has this down pat, and it's great to be able to rent the varying levels of capability needed from show to show without having to fork out my own cash out front AND without having to charge the client a bundle to recoup the cost, rental or otherwise. Transferrable license (USB dongle a la ProTools, Registration Code a la Quicktime Pro, etc.)

If you do a bad job with the spark plug replacement, you can lead to expensive engine repairs. ![]() Moreover, you can have difficulty accessing and removing components like the ignition coil or spark plug wire. You may need to remove the engine’s upper plenum or intake manifold before reaching the spark plugs. Spark plug replacement can be pretty challenging on some vehicles. However, if you’re looking for a general rule, most manufacturers recommend changing spark plugs every 30,000 miles. Your spark plug’s lifespan can range between 20,000 miles and 100,000 miles (for a long life spark plug).Ĭonsult your car owner’s manual for more clarity on when to change spark plugs. How Often Will I Need To Replace Spark Plugs ? You’ll then experience dips in fuel economy, slow acceleration, and rough idling. With time, the spark plug gap grows so much that the spark can longer make the jump. And this gap continuously increases as your vehicles spark plugs constantly fire during engine operation. Why Do Spark Plugs Need Replacing?Įvery time a spark jumps the gap between the center and ground electrodes, it burns off small amounts of metal from each electrode. Let’s explore some more about spark plug replacement through these four commonly asked questions: 1. Your exhaust may also smell like gas if you’ve got a clogged air filter, a leaky fuel injector, or a defective mass airflow sensor.īut troubleshooting your spark plugs is a good starting point. Consequently, your vehicle’s tailpipe emissions will start to smell like gasoline. Unburnt gasoline will reach the vehicle’s exhaust system when your spark plugs don’t ignite the air/fuel mixture properly in the combustion chamber. In other words, it’ll feel like your vehicle has lost its ability to get up and go. You step on the accelerator pedal, but your vehicle isn’t as responsive as it used to be and accelerates sluggishly. Engine Hesitates During AccelerationĪnother common symptom indicative of worn spark plugs is engine hesitation. However, if your car won’t start, the problem could be also lie with your car battery. And the engine likely stalls when you try to turn on the ignition system. Old and worn spark plugs will struggle to create this spark and power up your engine. Your spark plugs provide the spark needed to ignite the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. These are signs that your vehicle’s ECU (Electronic Control Unit) is struggling to compensate for the loss of power due to bad spark plugs. Under normal conditions, your engine will sound steady and smooth.īut if your vehicle has a faulty spark plug, you’ll hear pining, rattling, or knock-like noises coming from the engine. fuel economy or gas mileage) by around 30%.Īs a result, you’ll have to make more frequent trips to the gas station and shell more money on gasoline. In fact, spark plug failure can reduce your car’s fuel efficiency (a.k.a. Reduced Fuel Efficiencyīad spark plugs increase your vehicle’s fuel consumption because they can’t efficiently burn the airfuel mixture going into your engine. You may encounter signs of mechanical damage or fuel fouling (spark plugs getting flooded with fuel). Since faulty spark plugs are a common cause of Check Engine light activation, it doesn’t hurt to start by diagnosing your spark plug. It can also light up due to spark plug wire or coil pack issues. ![]() However, a faulty spark plug isn’t the only reason why your Check Engine light illuminates. Check Engine Light Turns OnĪ worn spark plug can cause your Check Engine Light to turn on or keep flashing. If your car has faulty spark plugs, you’ll notice some of these symptoms: 1. Amazon fire hd 8 kids edition apps9/10/2023 ![]() ![]() When we went into the settings, we were able to set limits on what our children could access and for how long. We could see just how much time they spent watching videos, reading books, playing games, and using Audible’s audiobook app. Each showed how much time they had spent on their tablet, broken down by activity. When we logged into our account, all of our children’s profiles appeared. This was a benefit that we, as parents, noticed more than our kids did, but it made transitioning from using the tablet in the kitchen to listening to songs and stories in our playroom much easier.įreetime Unlimited also provides parents the chance to monitor their child’s tablet usage using the Amazon Parent Dashboard. We connected our Echo Kids Edition to the same profiles and played the same Audible content on both devices. The line of Fire products, including the Fire TV stick and the Fire TV, are particularly easy to connect with the Fire HD 8 Kids Edition Tablet. We can use the Freetime Unlimited profiles on any Amazon device. We love that Audible is included in Freetime Unlimited, so that our kids can use the tablet as a kid-friendly E-Reader. Other major networks, such as Disney and Nickelodeon, also have content included. Our son loves watching PBS Kids shows, which are included in Freetime Unlimited. This service provides a lot of great content that parents can allow their kids to access, including television shows, books, and other apps. The Fire HD 8 Kids Edition tablet comes with a free year of Freetime Unlimited from Amazon. Any accident is covered under the warranty, which will make parents feel better about letting their children play with an expensive electronic tablet.Įntertainment Value: More than passive screen time Even if our children drop the tablet, Amazon will replace it with a new one. We were thrilled to see that the Fire HD 8 Kids Edition Tablet comes with a two-year warranty. Our 3-year-old was able to carry it with one hand without any trouble. The case itself is slightly flared out at each corner, making it easy for young children to hold, and it's also lightweight, weighing just over 16 ounces. It comes in one of three bright, kid-approved colors: blue, yellow, and pink. When we initially removed the tablet from its packaging, the first thing we noticed was how sturdy the case is. The case is perfect for small hands to hold and can withstand a lot of wear and tear. He adapted quickly to the screen’s sensitivity and was using the tablet independently within a few uses, though. ![]() This led to a little bit of frustration for him, as he accidentally opened apps and videos while navigating through the home screen. We did notice that the touchscreen is very sensitive, especially when our son was first learning to use the tablet. But for watching videos, playing games, and reading books with children, the 8-inch screen is just right for their smaller hands. We would prefer a larger screen for things like email, typing papers, or doing schoolwork. The screen is 8 inches, which is just right for kids. Our 3 year-old easily learned how to navigate to his favorite shows and books. Videos, books, and apps can all be opened by using the touch screen.
